Integrating Multi-Scale Data to Constrain Forest Biomass Stocks and Dynamics
Xiangtao Xu,
Cornell University,
Forest biomass dynamics are critical to the global carbon cycle. However, there is substantial uncertainty in the patterns of forest biomass stocks and their changes, challenging predictions of terrestrial carbon cycling under environmental change. I will present and discuss how individual-level data, such as tree biomass measurements, tree-ring records, and forest inventory data, as well as landscape level remote sensing observations, can be integrated to constrain forest biomass dynamics and inform global modeling.
