I work with Andy Thompson and Tapio Schneider on climate dynamics. I am broadly interested in the role of the oceans in the climate system and how the circulation of the ocean will respond to and modulate climate change. I am also interested in the role of sea ice in the climate system, coupled variability of the ocean-atmosphere system, and the hydrological cycle. My research uses a variety of models ranging from simple, conceptual models to comprehensive climate models. Besides research, I like to ski, surf, climb, run, bike — basically anything that keeps me moving.
