I started my graduate studies at Caltech in 2019 after completing an applied math degree at UC Berkeley. My thesis work with Jörn Callies is centered around the question, "How does dense water at the bottom of the ocean return to the surface?" We know that turbulent mixing generates thin boundary layers of upwelling in the abyss. Using numerical and analytical models, we have shown that these boundary layers couple with the interior circulation, and we are continuing to explore what this means for the overturning circulation. Outside of research, I enjoy video games, music, and camping. Go Beavs!
